Block Printing Blocks

Block Beauty is a one stop shop for the art of block printing. Starting with blocks in all sizes and designs, we use teak wood that is very strong and long lasting. We also customize blocks. Any design you wish can be carved by our professional block makers. Our block makers have been carving blocks for over 2 decades. They create designs {buttas} from 1 inch to 12 inches. Border designs from 3 inches to 6 inches and all round designs from 4 by 4 inches to 10 by 10 inches. The price of our blocks depends on the size and workmanship that is required for that design.

The Intensive Process - The blocks are treated with a white paste on the top, after which the design is drawn. The block maker makes a mark with a dotted line using an iron tool and begins to carve, it could take him one day or upto a week to complete the carving before it is ready for printing. The blocks are oiled well to make sure they are long lasting. We also teach you how to take care of the blocks that you buy from us.

We take orders for printing on cloth. Clients can choose from our selection of blocks or even give us designs that can be carved out for them.

We have introduced starter kits with materials that are used in a professional studio and instructional videos that will teach you how to use these kits.

You can also learn the art of block printing at our studio, where all the materials are provided. Our enthusiastic students start with one colour blocks and graduate to two and three colour blocks. They learn precision and speed with practice and print just as the professional printers do. They print on paper, cloth and canvas that are used to decorate their homes with block printed curtains, table mats, pillow covers and much more. They create gifts for family and friends with the art of block printing.
